Get a Customer First!

Customer

Slow down: Get a customer first!

If you build it, they may not come.

While you are focusing all your resources on product development, looking for the perfect product or service, just remember that it is really hard to get a thousand customers without getting the first one. Your product or proposed service just does not matter, at least not at the level you think it must. Think thinking strategically and spend at least as much time on customer development as you do on your product or service development.

You want to succeed? You want to penetrate the market? Force the discipline of spending brain time on this issue. Bake customer development into your planning sessions. As a leader, make your actions speak loudly: “GO GET A CUSTOMER!” Get out of the office and go get a customer. Now that you have a customer, develop the perfect product or service for that customer and keep on doing the same thing for all the other customers to come.

Whatever you do, whatever service you provide, make finding your first fifty, your first one hundred customers your primary goal!

Content Branding and Marketing

Concept of vision in business

The Way of the future
The final countdown | by: Michel Ouellette JMD

For the years to come, useful content should be at the core of your Branding and Marketing strategy.

Consumers and employers no longer trust and believe in the traditional world of information and communications. Smart individuals and professionals understand that traditional branding and marketing techniques are now becoming less and less effective by the minute, and that “Content Branding and Marketing” is the way of the future.

But what exactly is Content Branding and Marketing?

“Content Branding and Marketing is: a “Branding” and “Marketing” technique of creating and distributing relevant and valuable “Content” to attract, acquire, and engage a clearly defined and understood target and objective.”

Content Branding and Marketing is a technique and strategy designed to attract prospective employers and/or customers and retain their attention and loyalty by creating, curating and engaging content, publishing and circulating relevant and valuable information, that could and will influence and enhance the prospective targeted audience behavior positively in your favor.

It is an ongoing process that is best integrated into your overall branding and marketing strategy, focusing on owning the media, not renting it.

Content Branding and Marketing is the “Supreme Art” of communicating with your targeted audience without looking like begging or peddling. It is a non-interruption, an ongoing branding and marketing technique.

Instead of pitching your products or services, you deliver useful and valuable information to your prospective and existing customers that will help them make a decision in your favor so they can reward you with their business and loyalty.

Believe me it works!

To be continued…

It is always true that alone or without a customer, you are not going anywhere. This is the one and only reason why you shall always look forward to further consolidate and develop of your brand by fostering your existing contacts and acquiring new ones. The quantity and quality of your contacts is and always will be the best yardstick with which to measure the success of your personal and professional branding and this is what networking is all about.

Networking and branding is all about helping other people.

Whatever the nature of the social or professional event you may be considering attending, always think networking. Think about how can you be of any help to others first and how you can forge a relationship that will be ultimately beneficial for both parties. When meeting with people, new or old acquaintances always think about how you can help these people. Speaking about their personal or professional life, listening to them instead of speaking about you is always a good start and very good branding.

Good branding and networking is all and everything about attending the right events, speaking to the right people in the right time and in the right way. When conducted properly, networking is usually fun, productive and the greatest personal and professional branding tool that you may have.

Accordingly, there is little doubt that any part of the consolidation and development of your brand can be nothing else other than an active, determined, strategic and practical approach to cultivating your existing contacts and acquiring new ones as efficiently and enjoyably as possible. The quantity and the quality of your contacts are and always will be the best yardsticks with which to measure the success of your personal brand and that is what networking is all about.

Networking is all about helping other people. Whatever the nature of the networking event you may be considering attending: think about how can you be of help to others first and how you can forge a relationship that will be ultimately beneficial for both parties. Always think: How can I help this person? Speaking about their business is always a good start. In a nutshell, networking success hinges on attending the right events, speaking to the right people in the right way.

When conducted properly, networking is almost always fun, productive and a great personal and business branding tool.
