I will tell you the secrets of the gods

The Epic of Gilgamesh, the mother of all

I WILL proclaim to the world the deeds of Gilgamesh. This was the man to whom all things were known; this was the king who knew the countries of the world. He was wise, he saw mysteries and knew secret things. He brought us a tale of the days before the flood. He went on a long journey, was weary, worn-out with labour, returning he rested; he engraved on a stone the whole story.

Gilgamesh long before anyone else brought us the tale of the Creation, the tale of the Gods, the tale of Babel, the tale of the Deluge, the tale of Solomon. Gilgamesh was wise, he saw mysteries and knew secret things. Long time ago he provided the world with the answers to the greatest mysteries of life: Is there life after death and what is the purpose of man on earth?

And nobody listened.

To be continued…

More students should be forced to read such great literature. Not just those in higher learning classes. First time I read Gilgamesh was during my University during High School (UHS) English Honors course senior year. I loved it. The regents class read half then skipped to the movie. Ugh.

    • The Epic of Gilgamesh is one of the oldest and greatest piece of literature ever. The second one is Ecclesiastes or Qoheleth. They should be read side by side. It is quite revealing on the true nature of mankind and life after death.

I have never heard of Ecclesiastes or Qoheleth before. Are they available to read online or get through Amazon???

      • “Ecclesiastes” or “Qoheleth” “Koeleth” or “The Preacher” is one of the book of The Old Testament. I would recommend the King James version of The Bible. The presence of Ecclesiastes in the Bible is something of a puzzle… since it contradicts most of the other books of the bible… like the Epic of Gilgamesh, Ecclesiastes belongs to the Wisdom literature. You can esily find it online. You may try this link: http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Ecclesiastes-Chapter-1/ Have a nice day
